Projects & Experience

Casa Amazilia, 2023
Casa Amazilia was our first residential project in Guanacaste. It gave us firsthand experience coordinating local contractors and suppliers, managing decisions remotely, and navigating the complex realities of residential construction in the region. The completed home now operates as a vacation rental and reflects the attention to materials, detailing and practical design that continues to shape our approach. Guests have commented and provided accolades in their public reviews with respect to the beautiful and modern design.
Casa Rufous, In Progress
Following Casa Amazilia, we began Casa Rufous in April 2026. A larger two-unit residence totalling six bedrooms and a dedicated yoga studio. This project has allowed us to apply lessons from the first build while taking a more hands-on role in project coordination, site follow-up, materials, finishes and construction decisions. Construction is currently in progress, with completion planned for late 2026.

Meet The Power Couple
Amazilia Home Projects grew from our own experience building and managing our homes in Guanacaste. We learned firsthand how much coordination, follow-up and decision-making goes into keeping a project moving, especially when you can’t always be on site.
Max was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica. He grew up spending family vacations in Playa Flamingo which sparked his love of the Guanacaste culture and region. Erin spent the first part of her childhood on a farm near a small town called Francis in Saskatchewan, Canada. The later part of her childhood and teenage years she grew up in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. While she never even visited an ocean until she was almost an adult, something in her knew she would be destined to live in the tropics one day.
Over the years, we have invested in real estate, first through long-term rental properties in Canada to our recent homes constructed in Guanacaste as part of our portfolio. Every home we have lived in has been a construction project from the ground up.
We bring a structured project management approach, local presence, and an eye for practical design to each project. Our goal is simple: represent the homeowner, keep the moving pieces organized, and provide clear communication throughout the process.
